Jerry ended up in the Hospital 3 weeks ago w/ a nasty case of Gout, and his progress was slow, but his needs were met for the most part his Gout was in time controlled through invasive monitoring and tests galore...he ended up spending 2 weeks in the Hospital only to be transferred to a Rehab facility right around the corner from our house, fortunately??
I put that question mark after fortunately for a variety of reasons that remain to be read......check this out!
Upon arrival the Nurses from the other Hospital he just left had inadvertingly yanked his I.V. out therefore leaving him w/ a massive infection in his left arm, our first thought was MRSA...So we didnt want to take any chances...the pictures are as follows NSFW (graphic!)
7/3/10

Initially we were optimistic about this Rehab facility, in time that optimism turned into pessimism...80% of the Nursing staff DIDNT speak English...If they did, it was fragmented w/ a Jamican twang Id put it....thats not a bad thing..But it was a barrier noless. Whenever Jerry would bring a problem to the attention of the Nursing staff he was told repeatedly that "The Doctor will be in soon......" mind you, he was hearing this bullshit since he first got there (as of today) 9 days ago...And the Physician FINALLY went to see him
LAST NIGHT!?!?!?!? unfucking real, I say....
Jerry and I will be proceeding w/ the complaint we plan on filing w/ both facilities one thing after another from the Nurses giving him Insulin for his Diabetes instead of what he normally takes therefore He (Jerry) runing the risk of becoming Insulin dependant..Thankfully as of today the Doctors and Jerrys P.C.P (Primary Care Physician) FINALLY have him back on his medication regimen.....Too little too late if you ask me, But on a lighter note..The P.T. Physical Therapy staff have been wonderful, understanding, and compassionate so at least thats a ray of hope right???
Theyre expecting Jerry to come home sometime next week...I miss him so fucking bad, Im telling you, that bed is awfully lonely...I miss the hum of his CPAP machine and he accidentally kicking me ..One of MANY things I love about the big guy ;) so Im gonna bring us back to today, the infection on his arm looks a million times better & hes in great spirits, hes up and scooting around like its nobodys business too, even the P.T. staff is amazed at his resilience and so am I...I even picked Jerry up an Ice Cream smoothie from Ritas today too..he was happy as a clam!
heres a pic of his arm as of 7/7/10
